Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.90 percent at 17,491, S&P 500 futures were down 0.77 percent at 2,052.75 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.77 percent at 4,394.75.

Health insurer Aetna on Friday said it would buy smaller rival Humana for about $37 billion in cash and stock, in the largest ever deal in the insurance industry.

The deal will face rigorous scrutiny from U.S. regulators, which antitrust experts said could also make other large-scale mergers in the sector more difficult.

** GOOGLE INC, Friday close $547.34, -0.79 pct premarket

Google-owned online mapping company Waze is launching a carpooling pilot program in Israel where commuters pay fellow drivers a small fee for a ride to and from work.


The U.S. cigarette giant plans to sell a stake worth at least $1 billion in Indonesian unit PT HM Sampoerna Tbk to comply with free-float rules, two people familiar with the matter said on Monday.

The Israel-based bandwidth management service provider said it expects 2015 revenues of $100 million-$105 million, compared with $117.2 million a year earlier.

** EXXON MOBIL CORP, Friday close $83.14, -0.94 pct premarket

The company has ended its oil exploration in Madagascar after disappointing findings in its off-shore blocks, the Malagasy Mining and Petroleum Minister said on Friday.

** GENERAL MOTORS CO, Friday close $33.23, -0.99 pct premarket

The company’s vehicle sales in China were roughly flat for June as broad price cuts introduced earlier in the year failed to boost demand.

** AMERICAN APPAREL INC, Friday close $0.499

The struggling teen clothing retailer said it may need to raise more capital in the next 12 months as part of a new restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs.


The U.S. media group has offered to pay a total of 3.2 billion zlotys ($843.6 million) to buy the shares in Polish broadcaster TVN it does not already own to take full control over the company and delist it.

** HONDA MOTOR CO LTD, Friday close $32.65

Honda Motor’s new chief executive said the Japanese automaker has no plans for now to provide financial aid to Takata Corp, the air bag supplier at the centre of a costly global safety recall that has dented Honda’s public image as well as its earnings.

** HARLEY-DAVIDSON INC, Friday close $56.03, +0.93 pct premarket

A strong dollar has hurt Harley-Davidson sales this year, but the company’s large share buyback plan and a reduced cost base could push its stock up 30 percent, Barron’s reported in its July 6 issue.

** LG DISPLAY CO LTD, Friday close $11.17, -0.54 pct premarket

The South Korean company is considering investments related to organic light-emitting diode display technology, the firm said on Monday, following a media report that it plans to spend up to 900 billion won ($800 million) for a new production plant.

Biogen said on Thursday it had forged a deal with AGTC to develop gene-based therapies for a range of eye diseases, marking the company’s entry into opthalmology.

A German regional minister gave his backing to potash miner K+S’s rejection of an $8.8 billion-euro takeover bid by Canada’s Potash Corp, saying K+S should remain a German company.

** NOBLE CORP PLC, Friday close $15.07, -3.12 pct premarket

Analysts at Susquehanna Financial cut their target price on the stock to $22 from $23, citing lower demand for rigs and subsea equipment. “We view NE’s uncommitted rigs post-2015 to potentially be at risk of extended periods of idle time or possibly being cold-stacked,” analysts wrote.

** ENI SPA, Friday close $35.35, -4.05 pct premarket

Egypt has signed agreements to raise the price it pays Italian energy companies Eni and Edison for natural gas, an official with state-owned gas company EGAS said on Sunday.

** HOSPIRA INC, Friday close $88.95, -0.11 pct premarket

In a document seen by Reuters, the central purchasing agency for the Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) said on Friday it had decided to buy the biosimilar version of infliximab from Hospira, after the company offered a discount of some 45 percent to branded Remicade.

** CHIPOTLE MEXICAN GRILL INC, Friday close $609.56, -1.75 pct premarket
