U.S. stock index futures fell sharply on Thursday, a day after minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting highlighted concerns over the state of the global economy and as oil prices hit their lowest since 2009.
Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.71 percent at 17,162, S&P 500 futures were down 0.66 percent at 2,059 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.67 percent at 4,473.5.

The company’s net cash provided by operating activities was fell to $7.9 million from $22.2 million a year ago. Total revenues increased 147.1 percent, but gross margin fell to 93.7 percent from 94.7 percent.

The electronic measurement instrument maker posted better-than-expected third-quarter profit, helped by lower costs. The company’s 2015 revenue forecast topped analysts estimates.

The Canadian silver miner said it had chosen to withdraw its listing on the New York Stock Exchange after deciding that the costs and burdens of maintaining the listing outweigh the benefits “during this downturn in the commodity cycle”. The company’s NYSE-listed shares have stayed below $1 for 30-days, which is below the NYSE continued listing requirement.
