Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 1.36 percent at 15,912, S&P 500 futures were down 1.44 percent at 1,848.25 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 2.24 percent at 3,931.75.

The drug developer says the U.S. FDA has placed a partial clinical hold on studies for its lead cancer drug, pacritinib.

** BIOCRYST PHARMACEUTICALS INC, Friday close $6.14, -62.54 pct premarket

The drug developer said its lead drug failed to reduce the frequency of recurrent swelling in patients with hereditary angioedema, a rare genetic condition.

** HASBRO INC, Friday close $74.1

The company reported better-than-expected quarterly revenue and profit, helped by strong holiday demand for toys based on “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Jurassic World” movies released last year.

** DIAMOND OFFSHORE DRILLING INC, Friday close $18.85

** LOEWS CORP, Friday close $36.29, -7.94 pct premarket

** CNA FINANCIAL CORP, Friday close $32.47

Diamond Offshore, one of the world’s top five offshore rig contractors, reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit as cost cutting pays off, and the company said it was suspending its dividend to add to cost savings.

Loews, which owns a majority stake in Diamond Offshore, swung to a loss in the fourth quarter. Loews, controlled by New York’s wealthy Tisch family was hurt by a $499 million impairment charge at Diamond Offshore and lower revenue from its insurance business, CNA Financial.

** CONSOL ENERGY INC, Friday close $9.1, +4.84 pct premarket

The company said it nominated Bernard Lanigan, the chief executive of Southeastern Asset Management Inc, the coal and natural gas producer’s largest shareholder, for election to its board.

** TAHOE RESOURCES INC, Friday close $8.4

The Canadian miner said it would buy peer Lake Shore Gold Corp in a stock deal valued at C$945 million ($679.32 million) to add low-cost gold operations to its portfolio.

** COGNIZANT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS CORP, Friday close $58.54, -9.50 pct premarket

The IT services provider reported a 17.9 percent rise in quarterly revenue, boosted by higher-spending healthcare and financial sector clients in North America.

** APOLLO EDUCATION GROUP INC, Friday close $6.95, +26.91 pct premarket

The for-profit education provider said on Monday it would be taken private by a consortium of investors in a deal valued at $1.1 billion.

** VALERO ENERGY CORP, Friday close $57.12, -0.37 pct premarket

** PHILLIPS 66, Friday close $78.33

The companies say they are in “max gasoline mode,” pumping out as much as they can as a mild winter, economic uncertainty and a stinging slump in oil drilling squeezed U.S. diesel demand. The largest U.S. independent refiners are bullish on domestic gasoline demand as super-cheap fuel and the lure of bigger vehicles entice more consumers.

EU antitrust regulators will decide by March 11 whether to allow CK Hutchison Holdings Ltd and Vimpelcom to merge their Italian mobile operations, marking the Hong Kong group’s second European telecoms deal under EU review.

The hashtag #RIPTwitter became the top trending U.S. item on Twitter on Saturday, after a report from BuzzFeed said the company is planning to change how it displays users’ tweets.

HSBC cuts rating on the drugmaker to “hold” from “buy”, saying “concerns over portfolio strategy and a near-term lack of growth may outweigh the longer-term potential in investors’ minds”.

** ARCELORMITTAL, Friday close $3.73, -5.09 pct premarket

Berenberg cuts its rating on the stock, saying it did not expect a $3 bln capital increase so early. ArcelorMittal launched plans on Friday for a $3 billion share issue to help reduce debt and cut costs.

** ARM HOLDINGS, Friday close $42.28, -5.04 pct premarket

Royalty expectations for 2016 seem a bit high, says Credit Suisse - which is rated at five stars for recommendation accuracy on ARM, according to StarMine.

The film and TV company is expected to report a fall in second-quarter profit after market on Monday.
