BUZZ-Air Canada: Profit rises as load factor improves

** Largest Canadian airline’s shares up 6.4 pct at C$9.44

** Reports an 8 pct rise in third-quarter profit as it flew fuller planes at a lower cost per passenger

** Airline has been boosting what it calls “density,” squeezing more passengers onto planes

** Adjusted cost per available seat mile fell 2.9 pct to 10.1 Canadian cents, from a year earlier

** Load factor, which measures how effectively it filled seats during the quarter, rose to 87.2 pct from 86.2 pct

** Up to Wednesday’s close, shares rose 25 pct this year
