U.S. stock index e-mini futures were up on Monday: Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.03 percent at 18,133, S&P 500 futures were up 0.01 percent at 2,103 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.13 percent at 4,448.25.

The hardwood flooring retailer sold flooring with higher levels of formaldehyde than permitted under California’s health and safety standards, according to television news program “60 Minutes”.

The drug developer signs agreement with Chugai Pharmaceutical Co Ltd to commercialize its cell therapy for ischemic stroke in Japan.

Chipmaker NXP Semiconductors has agreed to buy smaller peer Freescale Semiconductor and merge operations in a deal valuing the combined company at over $40 billion.

Mobile device maker said it plans to offer a cloud-based version of its device management platform BES12, a move that will make the service more accessible to small- and medium-sized businesses that need to secure devices on their own networks.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration rejected Pacira’s application for expanding the use of its post-surgery pain drug, Exparel.

J.P. Morgan Securities raises price target to $141.12 from $135 on the world’s largest brewer’s U.S.-listed shares. Improving dynamics in the United States, further synergies from Mexico, along with lower growth in costs despite still-significant investment will drive robust profit growth in 2015, analyst Komal Dhillon wrote in a note.

The maker of smartphone chips and software unveiled on Monday fourth-generation LTE modems that will enable cars to stay better-connected wirelessly to cloud-based services via the Web. Cars using the new technology should be on the market within a few years’ time.

** SQUARE 1 FINANCIAL INC, Friday close $27.68

Regional lender PacWest Bancorp said it agreed to buy Square 1 Financial in an all-stock deal valued at about $849 million. Square 1 stockholders will receive 0.5997 shares of PacWest common stock for each share held, the companies said on Monday. This equates to $27.49 per share based on PacWest’s Friday close.

Drugmaker’s Kyprolis helped patients with relapsed multiple myeloma live twice as long before their blood cancer worsened compared to a regimen containing rival drug Velcade, according to an interim analysis announced by the company on Sunday.
