U.S. stock index futures were little changed on Monday, after the S&P 500 scored its best monthly performance in more than three years and ahead of data on the consumer and manufacturing sector. Dow Jones industrial average e-mini futures were up 0.08 percent at 18,141, S&P 500 e-mini futures were down 0.05 percent at 2,101.75 and Nasdaq 100 e-mini futures were up 0.15 percent at 4,449.

Regional lender PacWest Bancorp said it agreed to buy Square 1 Financial in an all-stock deal valued at about $849 million. Square 1 stockholders will receive 0.5997 shares of PacWest common stock for each share held, the companies said on Monday. This equates to $27.49 per share based on PacWest’s Friday close.
