The Dow Jones industrial average was down 1.65 percent at 16,400.08, the S&P 500 was down 1.34 percent at 1,963.44 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.12 percent at 4,839.346.

The Photoshop maker reported a 21 percent jump in quarterly revenue, as more customers subscribed to its creative and marketing software products provided over the Internet.
** PARSLEY ENERGY INC, $14.93, -9.73 pct
The oil and gas producer announced an offering of 13 million shares of its Class A common stock. The offering size represents about 9.2 percent of the company’s total outstanding shares as of May 12.
** FREEPORT-MCMORAN INC, $10.92, -9.38 pct
The diversified U.S. miner and energy producer said it had filed to sell additional shares to raise up to $1 billion. The company also raised $1 billion in gross proceeds through the sale of 96.7 million shares that was announced on Aug. 10.
** TRACON PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $16.2, +38.11 pct
The drug developer said a patient suffering from choriocarcinoma showed complete response to its experimental drug, TRC105. Choriocarcinoma is a fast-growing form of cancer that occurs in a woman’s uterus. It is currently treated using chemotherapy. Complete response to a drug is the disappearance of all signs of cancer in response to treatment. However, there are chances of a relapse.

The world’s biggest restaurant chain’s shareholder group is renewing its call for the fast-food chain to stop buying any meat from animals raised with antibiotics vital to fighting human infections. The move from the Congregation of Benedictine Sisters of Boerne, Texas, comes amid growing concern from public health experts that the overuse of such drugs is contributing to rising numbers of life-threatening human infections from antibiotic-resistant bacteria dubbed “superbugs.”
