U.S. stock index e-mini futures rose on Friday, a day after Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said she expected the central bank to raise interest rates later this year: Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 1.37 percent at 16,319, S&P 500 futures were up 1.22 percent at 1,942.25 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 1.14 percent at 4,294.5.

** UNDER ARMOUR INC, Thursday close $102.19, +2.64 pct premarket

The world’s largest sportswear maker’s first-quarter profit outpaced expectations as surprisingly steep China growth boosted the company, despite fears of a slowdown in the world’s second-biggest economy.

Shares of Under Armour also rose after Nike’s results.

** APPLE INC, Thursday close $115, +1.13 pct premarket

The new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus hit stores on Friday, with dozens of people - and a robot - queueing in Sydney to kick off a global sales cycle that will be scrutinized for signs of how much juice the company’s marquee product has left.

The chipmaker said it would cut about 17 percent of its global workforce as it trims its mobile business.

EU antitrust regulators have opened an extensive investigation into the U.S. office supplier Staples’ $6.3 billion bid for rival Office Depot as they warned about possible price hikes as a result of the deal.

The Canadian smartphone maker reported a bigger-than-expected loss for the second quarter as revenue from smartphone sales slid further.

** COCA-COLA CO, Thursday close $39.15, +1.10 pct premarket

The beverage maker said on Thursday it planned to sell nine production facilities to three of its largest independent bottlers as it seeks to unload low-margin assets and reduce manufacturing costs in the United States.

** GALAPAGOS NV, Thursday close $61.48, -21.93 pct premarket

AbbVie Inc said it would not buy the rights to the Belgium-based company’s rheumatoid arthritis drug. AbbVie is instead choosing to advance its own arthritis drug, ABT-494, into late-stage studies.

** NOVARTIS AG, Thursday close $91.8, +2.11 pct premarket

The drugmaker’s new heart failure drug, Entresto, has been recommended for approval in Europe by the European Medicines Agency’s review body, the company said.

** REYNOLDS AMERICAN INC, Thursday close $42.11, +2.30 pct premarket

Japan Tobacco Inc is in advanced talks to buy assets worth about $5 billion from Reynolds American, including some of the Natural American Spirit tobacco brand, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.

** BOEING CO, Thursday close $129.75, +1.16 pct premarket

** LOCKHEED MARTIN CORP, Thursday close $204.76, +1.38 pct premarket

Aerojet is considering raising its $2 billion offer for United Launch Alliance, a rocket launch venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin, but faces big hurdles after a public rejection of the bid last week, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

** GENERAL ELECTRIC CO, Thursday close $24.91, +0.88 pct premarket

The U.S. conglomerate has struck a deal for up to $12 billion in financing from Britain’s export credit agency, possibly creating as many as 1,000 jobs in the country.

** FACEBOOK INC, Thursday close $94.41, +1.28 pct premarket

The company’s Oculus and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd unveiled a new version of Gear VR virtual reality headset for $99, half the price of the previous “Innovator Edition”, and said the product would be available in the United States in time for Black Friday and globally shortly after.
