WestJet's quarterly profit jumps 14 pct

Nov 1 (Reuters) - Canada’s WestJet Airlines Ltd reported a 14 percent rise in quarterly profit as it flew more passengers.

The company’s net earnings rose to C$116 million ($86.58 million), or 97 Canadian cents per share, in the third quarter ended Sept. 30 from C$101.80 million, or 82 Canadian cents per share, a year earlier.

The Calgary-based airline’s revenue rose 7.6 percent to C$1.12 billion. ($1 = 1.3398 Canadian dollars) (Reporting by Ahmed Farhatha in Bengaluru; Editing by Anil D‘Silva)
