The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.22 percent at 18,373.9, the S&P 500 was up 0.12 percent at 2,142.07 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.05 percent at 5,196.121.

Shares of prison operators jump after Trump’s victory. Prison stocks have been under siege since Aug. 18 when the U.S. Justice Department said it would phase out private prison use, a move that Hillary Clinton commended.

The owner of MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon reported lower-than-expected quarterly revenue, weighed down by lower domestic advertising sales and the absence of hit movie releases at its Paramount film studio.

** IMPAX LABORATORIES INC, $15.05, -14.49 pct

The generic drugmaker reported lower-than-expected quarterly revenue and profit, hurt by decline in generics revenue.


The U.S. FDA imposed a clinical hold on a 12-patient mid-stage study testing its experimental hepatitis B drug, ARC-520, the gene-silencing therapy developer said late on Tuesday.

The beauty products maker reported lower-than-expected quarterly revenue due to a slump in demand across its businesses, including fragrances and color cosmetics.

The internal watchdog at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services warned the office tasked with administering federal health insurance programs that Mylan’s EpiPen was improperly classified as a generic drug in 2009, Senator Charles Grassley said on Tuesday.

** TRIPADVISOR INC, $53.3016, -15.53 pct

The travel review website operator reported lower-than-expected quarterly revenue as the company earned less from referrals to third-party hotel websites.

** AT&T INC, $36.8, -0.51 pct

** TIME WARNER INC, $86.36, -1.72 pct

Shares of telecommunications giant AT&T and media company Time Warner fell amid fears that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will hold good on his vow to block their proposed $85 billion merger.

** GOPRO INC, $10.25, -5.62 pct
