TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd workers represented by Unifor have set a strike deadline of Feb. 15 after voting to strike if necessary over contract negotiations, the union said on Tuesday.
Members voted 97 percent to give their union a strike mandate at meetings held over the last week. Bargaining, which started in September, is set to resume in Calgary this week after a holiday break.
Unifor, the country’s biggest private sector union, represents about 1,650 workers at CP, including safety and maintenance staff. Their contract expired Dec. 31, 2014.
