Striking Steelworkers say Potash mines won't run

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Reuters) - A strike at Potash Corp of Saskatchewan will effectively shut down production at three mines, which account for about 6 percent of world capacity, spokesmen for the United Steelworkers union said on Friday.

Workers from other unions who are involved in expansion projects at the three mines are expected to honor the picket lines and stay off the sites, said Steelworkers officials Steve Hunt and Roger Falconer.
