Maple Leaf unsure when Toronto plant will reopen

TORONTO (Reuters) - Maple Leaf Foods Inc (MFI.TO) CEO Michael McCain said on Wednesday that Canadian food regulators were not to blame for the outbreak of food poisoning linked to deli meats produced at Maple Leaf’s Toronto plant.

McCain told a news conference he was unsure when the plant would reopen, saying it would not start up again until the investigation was complete. Listeriosis linked to meat produced at the plant has been associated with 15 deaths in Canada.
