OTTAWA (Reuters) - Prime Minister Stephen Harper will address the country on national television on Wednesday night as speculation grows that he will ask for Parliament to be temporarily suspended.

He will speak to the nation at 7 p.m. EST (2400 GMT), CBC television said.

Harper is expected to say that a plan by the three opposition parties to bring down the minority Conservative government and install a coalition government is illegitimate. The temporary suspension of Parliament is one option he is considering.
