CAW has deal on GM concessions: paper

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Canadian Auto Workers union has reached a deal with General Motors Corp that will provide concessions ahead of a restructuring package, the Globe and Mail newspaper said on its web site on Friday.

The paper quoted sources as saying the deal would make GM’s Canadian unit competitive with Japanese auto makers in Canada. Workers would vote on it this weekend.
