"CSI" reruns kill CBS rivals in Thursday ratings

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Two “CSI” reruns rendered Thursday’s reality battle among Fox, NBC and ABC somewhat moot, as CBS won all three hours in viewership and adults 18-49.

The first hour of “CSI” (9.1 million viewers, 2.4 rating/8 share in adults 18-49) wasn’t anything to write home about, but it still beat the first hour of NBC’s “Clash of the Choirs” (8.1 million, 2.3/7) and Fox’s “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” (7.6 million, 2.1/7), according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research.

The second hour of “CSI” (11.2 million, 3.2/9) was the top show on television, Nielsen said.

ABC wasn’t a factor with an hour of “Duel” (6.4 million, 1.9/5) plus repeats of “Grey’s Anatomy” (5.8 million, 1.9/5) and “Private Practice” (5.1 million, 1.7/5). The medical drama was third in the demo at 10 p.m., behind CBS’ repeat of “Without a Trace” (11.5 million, 2.8/8) and an hour-long “Office” repeat (4.7 million, 1.9/6).

CBS (10.6 million, 2.8/8) won the night against Fox (7.4 million, 2.3/7); NBC (6.9 million, 2.2/6); ABC (5.8 million, 1.9/5); and the CW (1.9 million, 0.8/2).
