Hilton was not home during the early morning burglary, said Richard French, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The burglary as reported by a security guard at Hilton’s gated Los Angeles community, French said.

Police did not release the value of the stolen items. But French said the robber “ransacked” Hilton’s bedroom.

Hilton, 27, a member of the family that founded the Hilton Hotel chain, is a fixture of the Hollywood social scene. She starred in reality television show “The Simple Life” and has pursued a career as an actress and singer.
