The script, written by director Dito Montiel, centers on a young cop (Tatum, “Dear John”) who is assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, with an old secret surfacing and threatening to destroy his life and family.

Terrence Howard, Ray Liotta and Katie Holmes are in various stages of dealmaking to join the cast. Shooting on the Nu Image/Millennium Films project is scheduled to begin in New York on March 22.

Pacino’s recent credits include 2008’s “Righteous Kill” and 2007’s “Ocean’s Thirteen.”
