Cogeco seeks regulatory nod to buy 11 radio stations

(Reuters) - Canadian cable and telecommunications company Cogeco Inc said it filed with regulators on June 30, seeking approval to acquire 11 radio stations in Quebec from Corus Entertainment Inc.

In April, the company said it planned to buy radio stations from Corus Entertainment Inc in a cash deal worth C$80 million ($75.83 million).

The company said no details of the strategy will be released until the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) makes Cogeco’s application public.

Shares of Cogeco closed at C$29.56 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
