NEW YORK (Reuters) - A lawyer for “Jersey Shore” star Snooki pleaded not guilty on Wednesday on behalf of the TV celebrity to a charge of disorderly conduct against her, a court spokeswoman said.
Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, did not appear in court and the next hearing was scheduled for September 8, according the spokeswoman.
The 22 year-old TV personality was arrested in Seaside Heights, New Jersey last month while filming the third season of the hit MTV series. Police claimed she was being unruly.
The second season of “Jersey Shore,” which was filmed in Miami, is currently airing on TV. It premiered to 5.3 million total viewers, more than three times the number who tuned in for the first season’s premiere.
