A Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Thursday granted the former “Arrested Development” star the right to change her name from de Rossi to DeGeneres after her spouse, Ellen DeGeneres.

The name change petition states that de Rossi’s new full name is now Portia Lee James DeGeneres.

“I am thrilled to legally adopt my wife’s name. I will continue to use Portia de Rossi for professional purposes,” the new Mrs. DeGeneres said in a statement.

The actress, who most recently appeared in the television series “Better Off Ted,” wed comedian and talk show host DeGeneres in 2008 during a period when same-sex marriages were legal in California. The two began dating in 2004.

On Thursday, DeGeneres joked on Twitter that “the court granted Portia’s name change. She’s now officially Portia Winfrey.”
