LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - “Buried” director Rodrigo Cortes has dug up his next project, and Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver are attached to star in the film.
“Red Lights,” a psychological thriller that Cortes wrote and will produce, tells the story of a psychologist (Weaver) whose study of paranormal activity leads her to a famous psychic (De Niro) and some astounding revelations.
Cortes unveiled the Iraq-set thriller “Buried,” starring Ryan Reynolds, at the Sundance Film Festival in January, when Lionsgate picked it up for distribution. It opened in September.
De Niro’s most recent screen credits are “Stone” and “Machete.” He will appear in the comedy sequel “Little Fockers” in December and the thriller “The Dark Fields” in March.
Weaver most recently starred in “You Again” and “Avatar.” She next stars in the comedy “Paul” in March and the thriller “Abduction.”
