Danish star Ulrich Thomsen to star in "The Face"

BERLIN (Hollywood Reporter) - Danish star Ulrich Thomsen is reportedly attached to star in the period drama “The Face” from Swiss director Markus Imboden.

Thomsen, who appears in Susanne Bier’s Golden Globe-nominated “In A Better World,” will play a man suffering from amnesia who is fleeing through a post World War II ravaged Germany but doesn’t remember what, or who, he is running from.

He also doesn’t know why he’s wearing the stripped uniform of a concentration camp inmate.

New Berlin-based production house Films in Motion plans to shoot the English-language feature in Germany. It is currently putting together financing on the project, budgeted at just over $9 million.

Thomsen has starred in such films as “The Celebration,” The James Bond film “The World is Not Enough” and “Killing Me Softly” among others.
