Alan Cumming to remain on "Good Wife"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Scottish actor Alan Cumming has signed a three-year deal to remain on “The Good Wife” as a wily political operative.

Cumming, who joined midway through the first season in a recurring role, was promoted to series regular status for Season 2 currently underway.

Cumming plays Eli Gold, a campaign manager for Chris Noth’s scandal-tarred character. America Ferrera recently ended a multi-episode guest role with Cumming’s character.

Despite the new pact, running through Season 5, CBS has yet to renew the solid ratings performer for Season 3.
