LONDON (Reuters Life!) - A tour bus fire at London’s O2 arena may disrupt a Kings of Leon concert, the O2 said on Tuesday.

The arena said it was assessing the damage and would announce later whether the concert featuring the Tennessee rockers could go ahead.

“Following this morning’s fire on a show tour bus, we are currently assessing whether Kings of Leon will go ahead this evening and we will have further news within the hour,” O2 said on its website (

Around 60 firefighters and 12 fire engines had to deal with what the London Fire Brigade described as “challenging conditions” as smoke billowed from the vicinity of the white-domed concert and events venue by the River Thames in southeast London, the Guardian newspaper reported.

Ambulance staff treated six people for smoke inhalation, but no one needed hospital treatment.

“We have officers at the scene who have reported back now that the fire is now under control. It did not spread to the dome at all. It is in the parking location,” a London Fire Brigade spokesman said.
