VIENNA (Reuters Life!) - British Charity campaigner Heather Mills broke her shoulder blade skiing in Austria while training for the Paralympics and the ex-wife of former Beatle Paul McCartney is returning Thursday to England.

Mills, 43, fell Wednesday while skiing on a glacier in the southern province of Carinthia, a spokesman for the hospital in Lienz said.

“The injury will be treated without an operation and she is returning to Britain today,” the spokesman said.

The former model, whose split with McCartney in 2008 sparked a bitter dispute over money, lost part of her leg in a 1993 accident but is training in Austria — where she has bought a house — for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, media reports say.

McCartney is set to wed for the third time to businesswoman Nancy Shevell, his spokesman confirmed to Reuters earlier this month.
