Dec 2 (Reuters) - Canada’s Descartes Systems Group Inc (DSG.TO) (DSGX.O), which provides logistics management software and services, posted a third-quarter adjusted profit that beat estimates by a penny, helped by an increase in its services revenue.
The company reported a net income of $1 million, or 2 cents a share, compared with a net income of $2.3 million, or 4 cents a share, reported a year ago.
Excluding special items, the company posted earnings of 9 cents a share.
Revenue rose 11 percent to $18.9 million, helped by a 15 percent increase in its services revenue. Analysts had expected earnings of 8 cents a share, before items, on revenue of $18.5 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Shares of the Waterloo, Ontario-based company closed at C$5.59 Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
