March 4 (Reuters) - Tundra Semiconductor Corp TUN.TO posted better-than-expected quarterly profit, helped by higher revenue from its products business, but forecast fourth-quarter results below market estimates.
The small technology firm posted a third-quarter loss of C$1.1 million, or 6 Canadian cents a share, compared with C$54.0 million or C$2.73 per share, a year earlier.
Excluding charges, the company broke even.
Analysts on average expected the company to post a loss of 2 Canadian cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of C$15.1 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
Product revenue rose 10 percent to C$14.1 million.
"Our cash position at the close of the quarter was more than C$63 million and we remain debt free," CEO Daniel Hoste said in a statement.
Analysts were looking for fourth-quarter earnings of 2 Canadian cents a share, before special items, on revenue of C$16.1 million.
