Oct 5 (Reuters) - Canadian biotechnology company Theratechnologies Inc (TH.TO) reported a surprise quarterly profit, helped by a milestone payment.
For the third quarter ended Aug. 31, the company reported net income of C$5.8 million, or 10 Canadian cents a share, compared with a loss of C$11.2 million, or 19 Canadian cents a share, a year earlier.
Consolidated revenue was C$12.6 million, including a milestone payment of $10.9 million associated with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s acceptance to file the new drug application for tesamorelin submitted by the company.
It had reported revenue of C$106,000 a year ago.
Analysts on average were expecting a loss of 7 Canadian cents a share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
