July 30 (Reuters) - Canada’s Mullen Group Ltd’s (MTL.TO), second-quarter profit fell about 11 percent, hurt by lower revenue from its trucking and logistics and oilfield services segments.
The company, which is a provider of transportation and related services to the oil and gas industry, posted a net income of C$17.8 million, or 22 Canadian cents a share, compared with C$19.9 million, or 25 Canadian cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue fell about 19 percent to C$202.7 million.
Analysts on average were expecting earnings to be breakeven on revenue of C$218.06, according to Reuters Estimates.
Shares of the Okotoks, Alberta-based company were trading up 23 Canadian cents at C$11.90 Thursday morning on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Sakshi A Mattoo in Bangalore; Editing by Maju Samuel)
