March 8 (Reuters) - Evertz Technologies Ltd , a Canadian broadcast equipment company, posted a higher quarterly profit, helped by a 44 percent rise in sales in the United States and Canada.
For the November-January quarter, the company earned C$23.6 million, or 32 Canadian cents a share, compared with C$11.7 million, or 16 Canadian cents a share, last year.
Sales rose 26 percent to C$83.2 million, helped by an increase of C$14.9 million in the United States and Canada region, the company said in a statement.
Evertz, which makes audio and video infrastructure equipment for the broadcast and film industry, has operations in Croatia, Dubai, Hong Kong, the UK and the United States.
The 45-year-old company’s shares, which have gained about 40 percent in the last one year, closed at C$19.11 on Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Amruta Sabnis in Bangalore; Editing by Jarshad Kakkrakandy)
