May 27 (Reuters) - Aerospace and industrial products maker Heroux-Devtek Inc posted a higher quarterly profit, helped by an increase in its aerospace segment sales, sending its shares up 9 percent.
Net income for the fourth quarter rose to C$7.7 million, or 25 Canadian cents per share, compared with C$4.4 million, or 14 Canadian cents per share, a year earlier.
Sales rose nearly a quarter to C$106 million. Aerospace sales rose 25.7 percent to C$99.5 million, while sales from its industrial segment grew 11.2 percent to $6.5 million.
The company had signed a seven-year contract earlier this year with civil aircraft maker Bombardier Inc (BBDb.TO) to assemble and deliver structural parts like wing spars, wing ribs and fuselage frames. [ID:nSGE7170D5]
