May 31 (Reuters) - Chorus Aviation Inc CHRb.TO, formerly known as Jazz Air Income Fund, posted a lower first-quarter profit, hurt primarily by higher operating costs.
Net income for the quarter fell by C$1.7 million ($1.7 million) to C$14.7 million, or 12 Canadian cents a share, from a year ago.
Total operating expenses rose nearly a fourth to C$421.4 million.
Operating revenue rose 25 percent to C$443 million.
In January, the company became a corporation and changed its name to Chorus Aviation.
