June 15 (Reuters) - Canadian broadcast equipment maker Evertz Technologies posted a drop in fourth-quarter results hurt by a 31 percent fall in international sales.
The Burlington, Ontario-based company’s purchase order backlog at the end of May was more than C$24 million, it said in a statement.
During February-April, Evertz earned C$12.4 million, or 16 Canadian cents a share, down 19 percent from C$15.3 million, or 21 Canadian cents a share, a year ago.
Fourth-quarter sales fell 9 percent to C$68.5 million, partly due to a decline of C$12.4 million in international sales.
Analysts on average had expected earnings of 24 Canadian cents a share, on revenue of C$76.7 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Evertz, which makes audio and video equipment for the broadcast and film industry, has operations in Croatia, Dubai, Hong Kong, the UK and the United States.
Shares of the company closed at C$16.26 on Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Gowri Jayakumar in Bangalore; Editing by Sriraj Kalluvila)
