Alda Pharma skin ointment gets Canada marketing nod; shrs soar

Sept 8 (Reuters) - Alda Pharmaceuticals Corp said Canadian health authorities gave its skin ointment a natural product number, allowing the company to market the product, sending its shares up 50 percent.

The company received the natural product number on its 0.5-percent hydrocortisone ointment, meant to give temporary relief of minor skin irritations, rashes, itching and redness.

Richmond, British Columbia-based Alda Pharma’s shares touched a high of 4.5 Canadian cents on Thursday morning on the Toronto venture Exchange. (Reporting by Vidya L Nathan in Bangalore; Editing by Joyjeet Das)
