U.S. stock index futures were little changed as investors looked ahead to data that could give a clue into the strength of the economy a day before the crucial payroll report. Futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.8 point, while Dow Jones futures were down 12 points and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 2.25 points.
** JDA SOFTWARE GROUP INC, Wednesday close $38.15, up 18 pct premarket
The enterprise technology maker agreed to be bought by privately held supply chain software maker RedPrairie Corp for about $1.9 billion in cash.
** ZUMIEZ INC, Wednesday close $25.32, down 16 pct premarket
The action sports apparel and equipment retailer’s October same-store sales missed estimates and the company cut its third-quarter profit outlook on weakness in its European business.
Janney Capital, Wedbush Securities and Roth Captial cut theier price targets on the stock.
** PFIZER INC, Wednesday close $24.87, down 1.6 pct premarket
Pfizer reported quarterly revenue well below Wall Street expectations, on sharply weaker sales of specialty care drugs and a pullback of emerging market revenue.
** ESTÉE LAUDER COS INC, Wednesday close $61.62, down 4 pct
The personal care products maker lowered the top end of its full-year sales forecast, pointing to uncertainty in some key markets.
** AVON PRODUCTS INC, Wednesday close $15.49, down 3 pct premarket
The company slashed its dividend by nearly 74 percent on Thursday, while also announcing measures to cut costs by at least $400 million within three years and reporting a steep plunge in third-quarter earnings.
** SIRIUS XM RADIO, Wednesday close $2.80, up 0.4 pct premarket
The satellite radio company reported a lower net profit as it recorded a charge to repay some debt, but said revenue jumped 14 percent on strong subscriber growth.
** RADIAN INC, Wednesday close $4.69, up 8.5 pct premarket
The mortgage insurer posted its first quarterly profit this year, as it wrote more new insurance and recorded net gains on investments in a recovering housing market.

The car rental company reported better-than-expected quarterly results, helped by increased rental demand, and raised the lower end of its full-year earnings forecast.

The maker of free PC and mobile anti-virus software reported third-quarter profit above expectations as more users signed up for its services and the company forecast an upbeat current-quarter revenue.
** EXXON MOBIL, Wednesday close $91.17
The oil major, which spent billions in the third quarter to acquire oil and gas assets in North America, is expected to report quarterly earnings of $1.95 per share, down $2.13, hit by a 32 percent drop in U.S. natural gas prices.
** AIG INC, Wednesday close $34.93, up 0.5 pct premarket
The bailed-out insurer will report results on Thursday.
** STARBUCKS CORP, Wednesday close $45.90
The restaurant chain will report results on Thursday.
** KELLOGG CO, Wednesday close $52.32
The food group reported higher quarterly profit on Thursday, helped by strong performance in its Pringles business.
** CIRRUS LOGIC INC, Wednesday close $40.78, up 3 pct premarket
The audio chipmaker reported on Wednesday a 91 percent jump in second-quarter sales and its forecast for current-quarter revenue crushed analysts’ estimates.

The world’s largest credit and debit-card network ’s fourth-quarter profit rose 89 percent, beating analyst estimates, and the company authorized a new $1.5 billion share repurchase program on Wednesday.

The business software maker reported on Wednesday lower-than-expected revenue and announced a $1 billion share repurchase plan after a strategic review.

The Canadian business software company’s adjusted quarterly profit handily beat estimates on Wednesday but revenue from licenses fell short of its expectations.

The largest U.S. life insurer reported on Wednesday a third-quarter loss on a large goodwill impairment charge and derivative losses tied to its credit spreads and a change in interest rates.

The U.S. trucking and logistics company reported on Wednesday a quarterly profit that fell short of Wall Street’s and its own expectations due to higher employee benefit costs.

Billionaire investor Carl Icahn bought 10 percent of the company, presaging another bruising corporate battle and raising the possibility that the pioneering movie and TV-streaming company would get acquired.
