Nov 5 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures retreated on Tuesday. S&P 500 futures fell 0.29 percent, Dow Jones industrial average futures fell 0.34 percent and Nasdaq 100 futures fell 0.34 percent.
** CYTORI THERAPEUTICS INC, Monday close $2.09, up 51 pct premarket
The medical device maker said on Monday it would receive up to $531 million from Chinese company Lorem Vascular as license fee for its stem cell therapy that removes fat cells from a patient’s body. These cells, which are then injected into the affected area, increase blood profusion and heal the wound. Lorem will market the therapy in Asia-Pacific.
** ENDO HEALTH SOLUTIONS INC, Monday close $43.64, up 14.5 pct premarket
The specialty pharmaceutical company said it would acquire Canadian peer Paladin Labs Inc for about $1.6 billion to expand its presence in Canada and emerging markets.
** LEAPFROG ENTERPRISES INC, Monday close $8.67, down 10 pct premarket
The toy company cut its full-year sales forecast as rising competition hurt demand for its LeapPad tablets. The company also said it “sees a weak retail climate and growing concern surrounding this holiday season, especially in the U.S.”
** AOL INC, Monday close $38.72, up 4 pct premarket
The online media group reported a 6 percent rise in third-quarter revenue, helped by a rise in advertising sales.
** COGNIZANT TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS CORP, Monday close $86.85
The IT services firm reported a better-than-expected 22 percent rise in quarterly revenue as businesses, especially financial firms and companies in Europe, outsourced more work and increased spending on consulting.
** MICHAEL KORS HOLDINGS LTD, Monday close $74.78, up 0.5 pct premarket
The maker of fashion apparel and accessories reported a 49 percent jump in quarterly profit as sales rose in Europe and North America.
** MINDRAY MEDICAL INTERNATIONAL LTD, Monday close $37.11, down 2 pct after market
The medical device maker reported third-quarter revenue that fell short of analysts’ estimates on Monday and said weak market sentiment in China’s healthcare sector delayed some purchases. The company also announced it plans to buy back up to $200 million of its common shares effective Monday.
** WELLCARE HEALTH PLANS INC, Monday close $66.22, down 5 pct after market
The health insurer said it began an offering of about $600 million of senior notes due 2020. The company intends to use the proceeds to repay existing senior credit.
** FOREST OIL CORP, Monday close $5.02, down 4 pct after market
The company reporter lower-than-expected results on Monday as its oil and natural gas liquids production volumes fell short of analysts’ expectations. The company also said it expects fourth-quarter output to dip 2 to 4 percent from the third quarter.
** CORNERSTONE ONDEMAND INC, Monday close $46.16, up 4.5 pct after market
The HR software maker said third-quarter revenue rose 50 percent, helped by strength in its North American and EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) business.

Activist investor Voce Capital Management LLC is pushing to pursue a sale, saying it believes the surgical-device maker could attract buyout interest from at least a dozen industry peers, according to a letter seen by Reuters on Sunday.

The drybulk shipper and offshore contract driller quarterly loss was wider than analysts’ estimates as interest and finance costs more than doubled, but the company reported an 18 percent rise in revenue.

The New York Stock Exchange parent reported a 21 percent rise in third-quarter net income as revenues at its cash trading and listings business increased.

CVS Caremark Corp CVS.N posted higher quarterly profit and raised its forecast for the year on Tuesday, as sales grew at its drugstore chain and it processed more prescriptions.
** CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS INC, Monday close $135.77
The company, which is believed to be eyeing a bid for bigger rival Time Warner Cable, reports its quarterly earnings, and investors will be listening for any indication from CEO Tom Rutledge that Charter is closer to taking its bid public.

U.S. fertilizer company Mosaic Co MOS.N reported sharply lower quarterly earnings on Tuesday as prices of potash and phosphate fell and buyers were cautious.

The Canadian fertilizer company will report results for a quarter that was rough on crop nutrient sales for the industry due to a shakeup in global potash trading after the breakup of Belarusian Potash Company.
