U.S. stock index futures pointed to a slightly higher open on Thursday, indicating that equity markets would extend a rally that has taken them to repeated records on hopes for additional stimulus from Europe. Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.24 percent at 17,455, S&P 500 futures were up 0.11 percent at 2,021 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.21 percent at 4,151.

** QUALCOMM INC, Wednesday close $77.2, -7.01 pct premarket

The company warned on Wednesday that an antitrust investigation and problems collecting royalties could harm its business in China next year and it also disclosed new regulatory investigations in the United States and Europe.

As many as nine brokerages cut their price targets on the stock on Thursday.

** AETERNA ZENTARIS INC, Wednesday close $1.29, -51.16 pct premarket

The drugmaker said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration rejected macimorelin, an experimental test designed to determine if adults’ pituitary glands are secreting enough growth hormone.

** KATE SPADE & CO, Wednesday close $26.26, +9.48 pct premarket

The company reported a 30 percent rise in third-quarter sales as demand for its handbags and accessories increased in North America, its biggest market.

** HOSPIRA INC, Wednesday close $53.1, +3.58 pct premarket

The drugmaker reported a 14.1 percent rise in quarterly revenue as it charged higher prices and sold more of its injectable drugs.

** GENERAC HOLDINGS INC, Wednesday close $43.52, -11.53 pct premarket

The generator maker said it expects a mid single-digit percentage fall in 2014 revenue, hurt by fewer-than-usual power outages in United States

** AMERICAN CAPITAL LTD, Wednesday close $14.66, +9.82 pct premarket

The private equity firm and asset manager said it plans to split into three companies by spinning off most of its investment assets into two publicly-traded business development companies and continue as an asset manager.

** RANDGOLD RESOURCES LTD, Wednesday close $59.16, +4.97 pct premarket

The chief executive of the gold miner said production will be towards the top end of the company’s full-year forecast as its big new project in the Democratic Republic of Congo picks up speed.

** THORATEC CORP, Wednesday close $27.04, -3.85 pct premarket

The heart device maker’s third quarter revenue fell 16 percent to $$105.8 million, missing analysts’ estimates.

** AES CORP, Wednesday close $13.95, -2.15 pct premarket

The power company lowered its full-year adjusted earnings forecast to $1.25-1.31 from $1.30-$1.38 due to lower water inflows at plants and a higher-than-expected tax rate.

** TABLEAU SOFTWARE INC, Wednesday close $76.5, +10.69 pct premarket

At least seven brokerages raised their price targets on the data analytics software maker’s shares by as much as $22 to as much as $130 after it reported better-than-expected third quarter profit and revenue on Wednesday.

** ANN INC, Wednesday close $36.6, -5.05 pct premarket

The women’s wear retailer, under pressure from some hedge funds to sell itself, lowered its full-year sales outlook.

** DRYSHIPS INC, Wednesday close $1.46, +5.48 pct premarket

The drybulk shipper reported a third quarter profit compared with a loss in the year-earlier quarter, helped by higher voyage revenue and a rise in drilling contracts.

** TESLA MOTORS INC, Wednesday close $230.97, +0.83 pct premarket

The electric-car maker beat analysts’ expectations for third-quarter results. The automaker said its quarterly loss nearly doubled from a year ago to $75 million, as manufacturing, sales and development expenses increased to meet rising demand for its Model S sedan.

** MOLYCORP INC, Wednesday close $1.41, -12.06 pct premarket

The company, which produces 13 different rare metals used in industries such as consumer electronics and defense, reported a much bigger quarterly loss, hurt by lower prices of rare-earth metals and a steep jump in production costs.

** GENWORTH FINANCIAL INC, Wednesday close $14.07, -23.67 pct premarket

The mortgage insurer reported a surprise third-quarter loss, hurt by losses at its U.S. life Insurance business.

** CBS CORP, Wednesday close $52.5, +2.25 pct premarket

The owner of the most-watched U.S. television network reported a marginally better-than-expected quarterly profit and revenue, driven by higher distribution revenue from licensing its television shows.

** CF INDUSTRIES, Wednesday close $253.63, -5.35 pct premarket

The U.S. fertilizer producer reported a 44 percent drop in third quarter profit on Wednesday, a steeper than expected fall.

** SOLARCITY CORP, Wednesday close $54.44, +2.04 pct premarket

The largest U.S. solar panel installer, on Wednesday, reported a 20 percent rise in quarterly revenue and said it had cut system costs more than expected.

** WHOLE FOODS MARKET INC, Wednesday close $39.99, +8.65 pct premarket

The upscale grocer reported a better-than-expected quarterly profit as the company increased its market share and launched new products.

** QEP RESOURCES INC, Wednesday close $24.44

The oil and gas company said on Wednesday that its third quarter net income rose more than 4-fold to $171.1 million due to higher crude oil production

The publisher of the Wall Street Journal reported quarterly revenue and profit above estimates, helped by higher sales at its book publishing and online real estate businesses.

** ASTRAZENECA, Wednesday close $73.47, -1.08 pct premarket

Recent U.S. tax changes have weakened the case for companies like Pfizer Inc to shift their tax bases overseas by striking so-called tax inversion deals, according to AstraZeneca’s chief executive.

** PETROLEO BRASILEIRO SA, Wednesday close $11.16, -5.02 pct premarket

Brazil’s state-run oil company has no date or size for a widely expected increase in the domestic price of gasoline and diesel, the company said on Wednesday.

** TELUS CORP, Wednesday close $36.45

The company, one of Canada’s largest telecommunications companies, reported a 5.4 percent rise in quarterly operating revenue as it added subscribers and its revenue per user rose.

** WESTERN DIGITAL CORP, Wednesday close $101.28, -1.35 pct premarket

The data storage company launched a secondary public follow-on offering where Hitachi Ltd will sell 5.43 million shares. Hitachi’s stake would drop to 3 percent from 5.4 percent after the offering, which is expected to be priced after markets close on Thursday.

** PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL INC, Wednesday close $88.91, -3.27 pct premarket
