BUZZ-U.S. Stocks on the Move-Fresh Pet, Sears, Salix, Steel stocks

U.S. stocks were little changed on Friday, though the Dow and S&P 500 inched up to fresh records as October payrolls data indicated resilience in the face of slowing global demand. Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.11 percent at 17,485, S&P 500 futures were down 0.21 percent at 2,023.75 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.34 percent at 4,148.5.

** WALT DISNEY CO, $89.72, -2.48 pct

The media and theme park giant posted a quarterly profit that fell in line with Wall Street expectations as it rode the blockbuster performance of its movie box office hits "Maleficent" and "Guardians of the Galaxy."

But operating income at its sports behemoth ESPN fell due to higher contract rates for high-end National Football League and Major League Baseball games, which helped drag the company's cable networks unit down by 1 percent to $1.3 billion.

The drop at cable networks, the company's largest unit, likely drove Disney shares lower, said Gabelli & Company analyst Brett Harriss, who rates Disney a "hold."

** ROKA BIOSCIENCE INC, $3.77, -54.80 pct

Three brokerages cut their price target on the biotechnology company's stock after it reported a third-quarter loss of 64 cents per shares, compared with an estimated 49 cents per share.

** MULTI-FINELINE EELECTRONIX INC, $10.74, +7.51 pct

Electronics chip maker reported a fourth-quarter adjusted profit above average analyst expectation as cost-cutting drove margins.

** SALIX PHARMACEUTICALS LTD, $92.35, -33.35 pct

The drugmaker slashed its full-year forecast on Thursday and said inventory for its key drugs piled up, an issue that people familiar with the matter said dissuaded Allergan Inc from acquiring it.

** REPROS THERAPEUTICS INC, $9.67, +49.92 pct

The drug developer said the U.S Food and Drug Administration did not ask for additional clinical studies from the company for approval of its testosterone replacement drug.

** ZYNGA INC, $2.39, +1.27 pct

The maker of "Farmville" reported better-than-expected third-quarter results as it set its mobile gaming push in motion with releases such as "New Words with Friends."

** GAP INC, $38.79, +2.35 pct

The apparel retailer estimates third-quarter gross margin to be better than its forecast.

Canaccord Genuity and Janney Capital Markets raised their price targets on the stock. "We expect gross margin expansion to return in Q4 and continue into FY15 and beyond as GPS starts to reap the rewards from its supply-chain initiatives," Canaccord analyst Laura Champine wrote in a note.

** TENET HEALTHCARE CORP, $47.73, -6.74 pct

** COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEMS INC, $47.55, -6.03 pct

** HUMANA INC, $130.01, -7.05 pct

** HCA HOLDINGS INC, $65.44, -5.12 pct

The Supreme Court decided to hear a legal challenge by conservatives to a key part of Obamacare healthcare law.

The lawsuit would limit the availability of federal health insurance subsidies for millions of people, a key factor that has been driving more people to seek medical attention .

Hospitals have benefited from extension of insurance coverage to more Americans under the Affordable Care Act, as hospital admissions have increased.

Benefits from Obamacare face the risk of disappearing as Republican-controlled congress could repeal the law, putting hospital operators and managed care facilities operators under pressure.

** FIRST SOLAR INC, $50.27, -10.88 pct

The solar company's third quarter profit fell to 87 cents per share from $1.94 a year earlier, hurt by lower sales and higher tax expenses. At least four brokerages cut price targets on the stock after First Solar said it would not spin off its solar power plants into separate, publicly traded entity called a "yield co".

** CTI BIOPHARMA CORP, $2.085, -11.65 pct

The drug developer priced its public offering of 35,000 convertible preferred shares at $1,000 each.

** FRESHPET INC, $19.01, +26.73 pct

Shares of the pet food maker rose as much as 35 percent in their trading debut on Friday as investors rushed to grab a piece of the company expected to benefit from rising pet ownership and spending on pet food in the United States.

** GENWORTH FINANCIAL INC, $8.363, -3.43 pct

The life and mortgage insurer life insurance business was downgraded by the credit agencies. Genworth said late on Thursday that it was "disappointed that certain rating agencies took negative actions regarding our ratings at this time", adding that the changes in ratings or outlook are expected to reduce sales of some of its products.

** DAVITA HEALTHCARE PARTNERS INC, $74.46, -4.58 pct

The dialysis clinic operator warned of a "real risk that 2016 operating income could be lower than 2015", citing Medicare reimbursement and the commercial pay environment.

Deutsche Bank cut its price target on the stock to $79 from $83.

** AK STEEL HOLDING CORP, $6.63, +7.98 pct

** UNITED STATES STEEL CORP, $37.4, +3.74 pct

** NUCOR INC, $54.01, +0.99 pct

** STEEL DYNAMICS INC, $22.43, +1.29 pct

Following a complaint from AK Steel, U.S. authorities confirmed duties on imports of non-oriented electrical steel from China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Sweden and Taiwan.

** XOMA CORP, $3.815, -7.40 pct

The drug developer reported lower-than-expected third quarter revenue due to reduced reimbursements from its collaboration with France's privately held drugmaker Les Laboratoires Servier.

** GUIDANCE SOFTWARE INC, $6.14, -8.08 pct

The software maker, whose products help customers analyze electronically stored information, cut its 2014 revenue and profit forecasts.

** BRUKER CORP, $17.8, -14.79 pct

The scientific instruments maker posted third-quarter results below the average analyst estimate, hurt by weaker demand for its Nuclear Magnetic Resonance product.

** MONSTER BEVERAGE CORP, $107.97, +7.45 pct

The energy drink maker reported better-than-expected third quarter profit and sales on Thursday as demand rose in Japan.

** PRESTIGE BRANDS HOLDINGS INC, $33.03, -11.50 pct

The over-the-counter healthcare and household cleaning products distributor, on Thursday, reaffirmed its full-year adjusted profit and revenue growth forecasts.

** BRAVO BRIO RESTAURANT GROUP INC, $12.83, -11.15 pct

The Bravo restaurants owner failed to top market estimates for the third straight quarter and cut its full-year profit and same-store sales forecasts.

** FINANCIAL ENGINES INC, $31.795, -22.11 pct

The retirement income service provider said it expected 2015 revenue of $309 million-$315 million, below the average analyst estimate of $330 million.

** SHUTTERSTOCK INC, $78.98, +5.43 pct

The commercial digital image provider reported better-than-expected third quarter profit and revenue on Thursday.

** ENERPLUS CORP, $14.91, +12.02 pct

The Canadian oil and gas producer raised the low-end of its annual production guidance.

** ARISTA NETWORKS INC, $77.49, -11.19 pct

The cloud networking software maker said lock-up restrictions for 50 percent of the company's stock owned by its employees would be released on Nov. 11.

** CHANNELADVISOR CORP, $17.67, +44.84 pct

The e-commerce software services provider forecast full-year revenue above the average analyst estimate.

** KINROSS GOLD CORP, $2.455, +11.09 pct

Cowen and Co raised its price target on the gold producer , citing the company's trimmed production and cost forecasts for 2014. UBS upgraded the stock to "buy" from "neutral," according to financial website theflyonthewall.com.

** SUMMER INFANT INC, $2.4001, -22.20 pct

The baby products maker reported lower-than-expected third-quarter revenue on Thursday.

** MEDIVATION INC, $111.41, +6.16 pct

The drugmaker reported third quarter profit and revenue above analysts' estimates, helped by a $90 million development milestone from Astellas Pharma Inc.

** FIVE9 INC, $5.48, +23.15 pct

The maker of contact-management software for call centers posted a third quarter lower-than-expected third-quarter loss and raised its full-year revenue forecast.

** INC RESEARCH HOLDINGS INC, $20.07, +8.49 pct

Shares of the contract medical research company opened at $20.10 in its debut and rose as much as 11 percent to a high of $20.58, valuing the company at $1.23 billion.

** EATON VANCE CORP, $44.16, +17.70 pct

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved the investment management firm's application to launch a new type of exchange-traded fund that does not require it to disclose its holdings.

** UPLAND SOFTWARE INC, $10.9999, +12.82 pct

The cloud-based software company's shares fell 11.25 percent to $10.65 in a weak debut. The stock opened at $11, and sunk as low as $10.05, valuing company at $144.1 million.

** KING DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT PLC, $13.755, +4.28 pct

The social and mobile game company reported lower non-GAAP profit on Thursday as sales from its "Candy Crush Saga" title continued to shrink.

On a non-GAAP basis, it reported third-quarter adjusted income of 56 cents per share, which was less than 70 cents per share a year ago but more than analysts' estimate of 47 cents per share.

** ROCKWELL MEDICAL INC, $10.255, +9.91 pct

The drugmaker said on Thursday that an FDA advisory committee voted 8-3 in favor of supporting use of its iron deficiency drug to maintain hemoglobin levels in certain kidney disease patients.

** TEKMIRA PHARMACEUTICALS CORP, $16.61, +5.39 pct

The U.S. Department of Defense has exercised an option with Canada's Tekmira for the company to make 500 courses of its experimental treatment for Ebola, the company said on Thursday.

** AVG TECHNOLOGIES NV, $19.67, +11.63 pct

The Internet security software maker valued at about $940 million was approached by potential buyers, the Wall Street Journal reported.

** ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO, $29.59, -16.37 pct

Abercrombie & Fitch Co estimated quarterly profit and sales below analysts' expectations, with fewer customers visiting its stores as the company struggles to move away from its signature logo-centric apparel.

** CAPSTONE TURBINE CORP, $0.8842, -7.90 pct

The microturbine energy systems maker reported a second-quarter loss of 2 cents per share, bigger than the average analyst estimate of 1 cent.

** MITEK SYSTEMS INC, $3.04, +10.55 pct

The mobile imaging software maker reported a surprise fourth quarter adjusted profit.

"The solid results were driven by continued penetration within the mobile check deposit platform, with the number of live banks increasing by 378 during the quarter," William Blair analysts wrote in a note.

** CHINANET ONLINE HOLDINGS INC, $2.15, +2.38 pct

The Chinese advertising company said it will expand efforts to attract more clients in Fujian province in conjunction with the provincial government's redevelopment plan.

** MRC GLOBAL INC, $21.14, +4.60 pct

The distributor of pipes and fittings to the energy industry said third quarter revenue rose 23 percent, helped by higher sales in its largest market, the United States.

** UBIQUITI NETWORKS INC, $28.315, -18.21 pct

The wireless networking equipment provider forecast second quarter revenue and adjusted profit below analysts' average expectations.

** INTERCEPT PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $172.78, -30.04 pct

More safety trials on the drug developer's liver disease drug are needed as mid-stage trial data shows a rise in bad cholesterol in some patients taking the drug, according to a report in medical journal, the Lancet.

** SEARS HOLDINGS CORP, $43.96, +34.56 pct

The struggling retailer said it was exploring the conversion of 200-300 stores to a real estate investment trust (REIT) and would offer it to shareholders through a rights offering to raise cash.

** HUMANA INC, $130.01, -7.05 pct

The U.S. health insurer reported a lower-than-expected third-quarter profit as it paid for costly hepatitis C treatments and invested in the Obamacare health insurance exchanges and state-based health contracts.

** YUME INC, $4.8, -3.03 pct

The video advertising service provider forecast fourth quarter revenue of $54 million-$58 million, well below the average analyst expectation of $62.9 million.

** ALLSCRIPTS HEALTHCARE SOLUTIONS INC, $11.525, -14.94 pct
