Stifel analysts cut its rating on the Hamburger chain’s stock to “hold”, citing valuation due to recent appreciation in share price.

** UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP, Monday close $116.51, +2.05 pct premarket

The U.S. industrial conglomerate, which makes Pratt & Whitney jet engines and Otis elevators, posted a higher-than-expected quarterly profit on Tuesday, helped by gains in its unit selling climate control and security systems for buildings, even as the strong dollar weighed on sales.

The discount broker reported a 2.6 percent fall in quarterly profit, hurt by higher expenses. The company’s net income fell to $189 million, or 35 cents per share, for the second quarter ended March 31, from $194 million, or 35 cents per share, a year earlier.

The publisher of USA Today reported a 5 percent rise in quarterly revenue, helped by increased broadcasting revenue. Net income attributable to Gannett rose to $112.9 million, or 49 cents per share, in the first quarter ended March 29, from $59.2 million, or 25 cents per share, a year earlier.

Israel's Teva could make a public, unsolicited offer for rival Mylan as soon as Tuesday, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter. (bloom.bg/1QdnUlB) Mylan offered to buy Perrigo for about $29 billion earlier this month. Many see this as a trigger for Teva to act before Mylan becomes an even larger target, Bloomberg reported.

** BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB CO, Monday close $65.86, +1.93 pct premarket

Morgan Stanley analysts upgraded the drugmaker’s stock to “overweight” from “equal-weight” and raised its price target to $80 from $60. The company’s lung cancer drug, Opdivo, proved effective against a second type of lung cancer on Friday.

** BRAINSTORM CELL THERAPEUTICS INC, Monday close $4.47, +10.29 pct premarket

The company’s adult stem cell treatment was beneficial to patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in a mid-stage trial. In the United States, 5,600 people are diagnosed each year with the neurodegenerative disease, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The motorcycle maker posted a higher quarterly net profit, but lowered its sales forecast for 2015, citing an aggressive price discounting by competitors.

The Pentagon’s No. 1 weapons supplier reported a 6 percent fall in quarterly profit, partly due to fewer aircraft deliveries. The company’s net income fell to $878 million, or $2.74 per share, in the first quarter ended March 29, from $933 million, or $2.87 per share, a year earlier.

The company reported a 4 percent fall in quarterly sales as demand for personal care products such as Huggies diapers fell for the third straight quarter in North America and a strong dollar hurt sales in other markets.
