Aug 1 (Reuters) - Canadian oil and gas producer Encana Corp on Wednesday posted a quarterly loss compared with a profit a year ago, hurt by a $326 million non-cash charge.
The Calgary-based company reported net loss of $151 million, in the second quarter ended June 30, compared with a profit of $331 million, a year earlier.
Total oil and gas production rose to 337,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) from 316,000 boe/d a year earlier. (Reporting by Nishara Karuvalli Pathikkal Editing by Saumyadeb Chakrabarty)
