US STOCKS-Financials drag Dow, S&P 500 to session lows

NEW YORK, Dec 3 (Reuters) - The Dow and the S&P 500 dropped to session lows on Thursday as financial shares fell sharply heading intto the market’s close.

* The KBW bank index .BKX fell 3 percent.

* The Nasdaq turned negative, giving up gains it had accrued earlier from Comcast Corp’s (CMCSA.O) joint venture deal with General Electric Co (GE.N).

* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI dropped 9.75 points, or 0.09 percent, to 10,442.93. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index .SPX dropped 0.45 of a point, or 0.04 percent, to 1,108.79.
