May 6 (Reuters) - Outsourcing company CGI Group Inc (GIBa.TO) reported a higher quarterly profit, driven by strong bookings.
CGI, Canada’s biggest computer consulting company, earned C$77.5 million ($65.96 million), or 25 Canadian cents a share, in the second quarter, compared with C$68.8 million, or 21 Canadian cents, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 2 percent to C$948.3 million.
Analysts were expecting earnings of 24 Canadian cents a share, before one-time items, on revenue of C$1 billion, according to Reuters Estimates.
During the quarter, the company booked C$1.68 billion in new contract wins.
