* 3rd ball mill online at Paracatu, 100 pct ore feed by Q3
* 4th ball mill planned for H1 2012
* No changes to 2011 production targets (Adds details)
TORONTO, June 6 (Reuters) - Kinross Gold (K.TO) said on Monday that a third ball mill at its Paracatu mine in Brazil is up and running, and that the ore feed rate will ramp up to 100 percent by the third quarter.
The ball mill is expected to boost throughput at the mill as the gold mine encounters harder sections of the ore body.
A fourth ball mill at Paracatu, located about 230 km (143 miles) from Brasilia, is on track to start operations in the first half of 2012.
Kinross said it remains on target to produce 1 million to 1.07 million ounces of gold from South America in 2011, with overall 2011 production of 2.6 million to 2.7 million ounces.
The Toronto-based gold miner operates projects in the Americas, West Africa and Russia.
Shares of Kinross closed down 1.8 percent at C$15.29 on Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Julie Gordon; editing by Rob Wilson)
