TORONTO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Software maker Corel Corp CRE.TO said on Friday that fourth-quarter profit fell more than 60 percent, and it would not provide either a quarterly or full-year outlook.
The Ottawa-based company said it had earned $1.2 million, or 5 cents a share, down from $3.3 million, or 13 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue fell to $69.4 million from $72.4 million.
Late last year, the company said it expected fourth-quarter revenue of between $68.5 million and $69.5 million. It also estimated its net loss at $100,000, or nil per share, to $2.1 million, or 8 cents a share.
At that time, it said results would suffer from a host of factors, including reduced spending by enterprise customers, lower-than-expected worldwide OEM shipments and the negative impact of foreign exchange.
The company also opted on Friday not to provide an outlook for the first quarter or the full year, “given the uncertainty of the current global economic environment.” ($1=$1.25 Canadian) (Reporting by Scott Anderson; Editing by Lisa Von Ahn)
