Syncrude may average 290,000 bpd in Dec - owner

CALGARY, Alberta, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Syncrude Canada Ltd may pump out an average of 290,000 barrels a day in December, based on Canadian Oil Sands Trust's COS_u.TO annual production target, an executive with the trust said on Friday.

The northern Alberta operation is still expected to pump about 9 million barrels for the month, despite the shutdown of a coker unit for as long as four weeks as crews repair damage cause by a Dec. 5 fire, said Trevor Roberts, chief operations officer for Canadian Oil Sands.

As part of its upgrading operations, Syncrude has two other cokers and an LC Finer unit, all of which are operating. (Reporting by Jeffrey Jones; Editing by Rob Wilson)
