TORONTO, Feb 8 (Reuters) - Katanga Mining (KAT.TO), which is focused on operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, reported a fourth-quarter profit on Monday, helped by increasing copper and cobalt output.
The Canadian-listed company reported net income of $15.3 million and sales of $100 million. It did not provide a comparison with results from the year-ago quarter.
Katanga is forecasting production of 82,000 tonnes of copper cathode and 5,500 tonnes of cobalt metal in 2010.
Shares of the company were up 2 Canadian cents at 66 Canadian cents on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Euan Rocha; editing by Rob Wilson)
