OTTAWA, Feb 9 (Reuters) - Canadian National Railway Co (CNR.TO) (CNI.N), Canada's biggest rail carrier, said on Wednesday it plans to spend C$1.7 billion ($1.71 billion) in 2011 on track infrastructure, equipment and facilities.
CN said about C$1 billion is earmarked for track, rail and and bridge improvements and C$500 million is budgeted for facilities, such as distribution centers.
About C$200 million will be spent on equipment such as new fuel-efficient locomotives and new freight cars.
Over the past five years, CN said it has spend nearly C$8 billion on capital improvements.
