OTTAWA, June 10 (Reuters) - Lululemon Athletica Inc LLL.TO (LULU.O) said on Thursday its fiscal first quarter profit more than tripled, as demand for its yoga and workout wear rose sharply.
The specialty clothing retailer said it earned $19.6 million, or 27 cents a share, in the quarter ended May 2, up from $6.5 million, or 9 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 69.3 percent to $138.3 million.
Lululemon forecast fiscal second-quarter revenue of $140 million to $145 million and earnings per share ranging from 21 to 23 cents. ($1=$1.04 Canadian) (Reporting by Euan Rocha)
