US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Wall St flat as techs offset retail data

NEW YORK, Jan 14 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened little changed on Thursday as worries over the economy’s recovery caused by an unexpected drop in December retail sales was offset by gains in technology shares.

* The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI edged up 2.95 points, or 0.03 percent, at 10,683.72. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index .SPX eased 0.24 points, or 0.02 percent, to 1,145.44. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC added 0.61 points, or 0.03 percent, to 2,308.51.
